Terms of Use

Terms of Use

These Terms of Use explain the rules for using the Grocer app, Grocer Pro subscriptions, Smart Scan, shared lists, and related support, privacy, and help pages. By using Grocer, you agree to these terms.

Summary

Grocer is a grocery-list app for personal, family, and household use. You are responsible for the content you add, import, export, scan, or share through the app.

Using Grocer

Personal and lawful use

You may use Grocer to create, edit, import, scan, and share grocery lists for lawful personal, family, or household purposes. You may not use the app in a way that harms the service, abuses our backend, or violates applicable law.

Your content

You are responsible for the grocery lists, notes, photos, recipes, receipts, and other content you place into Grocer. Only import, store, scan, or share content that you have the right to use and that you are comfortable keeping in your Grocer account.

Accounts, Cloud, and Sharing

Sign in You can use Grocer's basic list features without signing in. An account is required for cloud sync, shared lists, account-backed subscription access, and some Smart Scan features. You can sign in with Apple, Google, or email, and you're responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials secure.
Cloud storage Your lists are stored in our backend (Supabase) so they sync across your devices and any collaborators you invite. Availability depends on network access and underlying service uptime.
Smart Scan Smart Scan may send photos you submit to our processing service, which uses AI and text-recognition services to extract grocery items from grocery-related images such as lists, receipts, recipes, pantry photos, and fridge photos. Results may not be perfect, so review detected items before saving or relying on them.
Collaborators If you invite other people to a shared list, you are responsible for who you invite and the content you choose to share with them.

Subscriptions and Payments

Grocer Pro Grocer Pro is an optional paid subscription that unlocks paid Smart Scan access and other subscription-only capabilities shown in the app. Free users can continue using basic list features and any free text-recognition path available in the app.
Free trial and renewal Eligible subscriptions may include a 3-day free trial. After the trial, the subscription renews automatically at the price and billing period shown in the app and confirmed by the App Store, unless you cancel before the trial or renewal date.
Billing and cancellation Subscriptions are billed through your Apple ID using Apple's App Store payment system. You can cancel or manage your subscription in App Store account settings. Canceling stops future renewals but does not refund past charges unless Apple provides a refund.
Restore purchases If you already purchased Grocer Pro, use Restore Purchases in the app to reconnect your App Store purchase to your Grocer account or device. Subscription availability can depend on App Store receipt validation, network access, and Apple service availability.
